Welcome to Light of Cambodian Children Inc. Raksmei Kone Khmer is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 1998 by a group of young and young-adult Khmer-Americans living in the New England areas. Raksmei Kone Khmer is established on the universal concepts of love, compassion, justice, peace, and forgiveness. The mission is to build a future based on non-violence, caring, understanding, and humanitarian relief for children in Cambodia as well as Khmer American youth in the United States. With the above values in mind, we hope to help Khmer children in Cambodia and the United States to gain the education and bare necessities to survive through life and become self-sufficient. We also wish to be involved in activities that can bridge the gap between the different Khmer generations as part of the healing process in the aftermath of civil strife and to carry out our dreams in helping the less fortunate children to succeed in life and to bring back the confidence in our identity as Khmer people. |
